Your Wedding Ceremony FAQs

  • Can I get married at Limepark?

Yes, Limepark is fully licensed to perform civil marriages and partnerships on our Chamomile Lawn or Gallery. Your registrar will come from Causeway Coast and Glens Brough Council (Ballycastle Office), and it is up to you to arrange your ceremony with them. Limepark do however provide forms to initiate this process.

We also cater to all religious and non-religious ceremonies.

  • How long will my ceremony take?

This is best discussed with your celebrant. However, a civil ceremony can be as short as 10 minutes; however, couples can lengthen their service with a poem, readings, or special music.

Humanist ceremonies can take between 30 – 45 minutes. There are multiple things you can include within a humanist ceremony to make it more unique such as hand fasting, sand ceremonies, quaich ceremonies etc. All these elements will lengthen your ceremony time.

Religious ceremonies typically take between 45 mins – 1hr.

  • What are my location options for an onsite ceremony?

The Lower Chamomile Lawn (Completely outdoors without cover)
With a choice of two backdrops to your ceremony you can chose to get married in front of our rose garden, framed by an ivy archway, for the rustic garden wedding of dreams. Alternatively have your guests face the old stone steps bordered by our majestic yew trees giving all the drama of a more manicured lawn wedding.

The Stretch Tent, Upper Chamomile Lawn (Outdoors with rain cover, not available in high wind)
Inspired by the Bedouin tents of North Africa, this striking sand-coloured canopy sits harmoniously among Limepark’s historic stone walls and verdant lawn. Providing all the beauty of an outdoor wedding but with respect for the Northern Irish weather and the challenges it can pose.

The Gallery (Indoors with underfloor heating)
Step into a warm and inviting haven, complete with underfloor heating, a crackling open fire, and timeless art gallery elegance. With its cozy yet sophisticated ambiance, The Gallery effortlessly creates an intimate and magical space, perfect for autumn and winter weddings or those unpredictable days when you want the reassurance of an indoor space

  • When do we have to decide what ceremony location we wish to use?

We’ll ask for your initial preferences when you book, and during your planning meeting, we’ll create plans A, B, and C (if needed) based on your choices. The final decision will be made the day before your wedding, when you’re onsite for your drop-off or setup appointment, depending on the weather forecast.

Please note, for safety reasons, the stretch tent cannot be used in high winds—it will only go up if it’s safe to do so.

  • How many seats can the Gallery hold for ceremony?

We can seat 90 in the Gallery for ceremony, if you would prefer not to have guests seated behind the partitioning wall, we can seat 70 guests. For larger ceremonies we would recommend our Chamomile Lawn.

  • Who will help me with my wedding planning?

The Limepark planning/office team is a dedicated and close-knit group that will guide you every step of the way. The team includes Angela (owner), Conor and Hannah (Estate Managers), Kelly (Wedding Planner), and Shannon (Assistant Wedding Planner). You will have a wealth of experience and support at your disposal. From showing you around during viewings to holding planning meetings and promptly responding to emails, the entire team is involved in creating your perfect day.

Generally, Kelly takes the lead in the final stages of planning with each couple, ensuring everything is tailored to your vision. Angela looks after the accounts side of the office. Meanwhile, Hannah, Conor, and Shannon assist in managing the day itself, ensuring smooth delivery and seamless execution. You will become well-acquainted with each of us, and by your wedding day, you’ll be surrounded by familiar faces, all dedicated to making your celebration unforgettable.

  • What does the wedding planning process look like?

Once your date is secured, we’ll send you an email pack to kickstart your wedding planning journey. This will include this document, a list of our recommended suppliers, a guide to our cottages with all the accommodation details, guest FAQs, and a template for your wedding planning document and table plan. These resources will help you understand what we’ll need from you as we get closer to your big day.

Once you’ve received your pack, it’s time to start booking your other suppliers and thinking about how you want your day to look and feel. What matters most to you? Is it the aesthetics, the atmosphere, or the music and entertainment that are your priorities? Taking time to think about this will help you allocate your budget wisely. For instance, one of our brides chose a gorgeous white dress from Dunnes—she looked stunning, and we were amazed when she shared where it was from—so she could book the band she truly wanted. It’s these personal touches and decisions that make your day uniquely yours.

While we leave booking other suppliers entirely up to you, please consider the space available at Limepark. It’s a cozy venue, so items like photo booths and large props can take up room and may reduce the guest capacity.

We’ll reconnect with you in person about 7–5 months before your wedding to start crafting your planning document, which will serve as the framework for your special day. Once the initial draft is complete, it will become a working document we’ll refine together over email until it’s finalised and signed off 20 working days before your wedding.

Throughout the planning process, we’re here to support you every step of the way. Whether you have questions or need guidance, don’t hesitate to reach out—we’re just a phone call or email away!

  • What are the Limepark office hours?

Our office hours are Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm (excluding bank holidays), and we’ll reply to emails during these times. We’re happy to accommodate second or parent viewings and planning meetings during weekdays as well.

On Saturdays, we’re here from 9 am to 2:30 pm for first viewing appointments only. Unfortunately, we’re not able to arrange second viewings or planning meetings on Saturdays. We close completely on Sundays unless we have a wedding or event taking place.

We always do our best to reply to emails within two working days, though during the busier wedding season (April to October), it may take up to three days—thank you for your patience!

Each year, we take a short break over the festive period for about 10–14 days. During this time, we step away from the office to recharge, so there won’t be any appointments or email/phone availability. This is the only time we take completely off after a busy year of weddings and events, and we’re so grateful for your understanding!

  • When can we set up the barn?

If the barn is not in use the day before your wedding, you will have access to set up the barn with your personal items strictly between 11am – 2pm.
